A long time coming!

Posted: October 9, 2007 in AIR

Hello World!

It’s been a while since I’ve submitted a post to my dear ol’ blog. It’s been a very busy summer, in business and family. but now it’s time for me to once again feed the two or three people reading my blog (including myself) some tasty tech info sprinkled with good portions of some of my extracurricular activities (such as paintball and snowboarding).

So what’s on the menu for today’s post? Adobe has released a NEW version of Adobe AIR. The Adobe AIR Beta 2 was released on Oct. 1st, so many of you may already “heard the word”. However for you who did not know (that’s me) you can proceed to the nearest queue (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air.html) and download America’s Favorite Cross-Operating System Desktop Runtime!

So what can you expect from this new Beta release? Here are just a few:

  • System tray icon notification
  • Bitmap drag and drop support
  • New install location
  • Mouse support for double-click and the scroll wheel
  • Synchronous APIs for the embedded database

Now Go Do Something Cool!
